Dependable tools, equipment and supplies for your
homesteading and sustainable living needs
If you are setting up a new homestead, adding to your small-scale farm or just simply taking steps toward more sustainable living, you'll find a full line of products, tools, supplies and books to help meet your daily homesteading and household needs.
Homestead General Store features a wide variety of unique, hard-to-find items for gardening, homesteading and sustainable living. We carefully select our goods with quality in mind and stand behind all of our products. Each item is meant to serve you for years to come.
In our store you'll find essential products you need to run a self-sufficient homestead: from kitchen cutlery and stainless steel cookware, to canners, grain mills, water filters, garden tools, gloves, hats, heirloom open-pollinating seeds and non-GMO animal feeds, to mention just a few! You'll even find chicken coops and portable chicken tractors, along with all items you'll need to start raising your own poultry, all in one trip.
During the spring and summer, don't miss our free mini-seminars on homesteading, gardening and sustainable living held almost every Saturday morning. (Visit www.SustainLife.org for the schedule.)
Homestead General Store is housed in a restored, eighteenth-century timber-frame barn. You'll find a visit to our store to be a worthwhile experience! Allow ample time to visit the nearby Texas campus of Ploughshare Institute of Sustainable Culture and its working Homestead Traditional Craft Village. You'll also want to visit Homestead Gristmill and stop by Cafe Homestead for lunch or a fabulous whole-grain bakery dessert.
